ABOUT THE ARTIST
BIO
Avi Boyko was born October 4, 1992 in Findlay, Ohio (it’s exclusive, you’ve never heard of it). His parents won a green card in a lottery and immigrated from Ukraine just in time for Avi to become the first generation of their family.
After his brother David was born two years later, the family moved to Brighton Beach, NY but decided to move to Santa Barbara, CA for the affordable cost of living and to avoid being part of a Grand Theft Auto 4 side quest.
Growing up, libraries and art museums were playgrounds of creativity open to everyone. Avi started drawing as a young child and found inspiration in old comic strips and children’s books, exploring their intricate doodle worlds and creating his own for hours after school.
As Avi grew older, he was drawn to the permanence of oil painting but always stayed in cartoon worlds, using their infinite possibilities and humor to challenge people to smile and maybe see the world in a new light.
He now resides in Agoura Hills, CA and manages Graphics Art Supplies.
